Great question I wish I had an answer to! Unfortunately the lab manual just tells us that it is known to anneal to to the gDNA and cDNA of tetyrahymena thermophila under all conditions!

There may be other ways I am not aware of, but I am certain that an RT-PCR and gel electrophoresis is the most applicable and simple way to measure a gene’s expression!

Are there other ways of testing DNA repair gene expression?
