  1. Can the research done with DNA damage response and the genes that cause it in unicellular eukaryotes possibly be applied to multicellular ones? Do you think once more is known about its pathways it may help to deter or repair DNA damage in humans?

    1. This research is specific to unicellular eukaryotes because we took genes that are directly present in T.thermophilla, that being said I believe that this same process could be repeated for multicellular eukaryotes, and yes I do believe that after more research is done it can be used to deter these pathways in humans!

  2. Did you discuss the potential clinical applications of DDR research?? If so what are they.

    1. There are multiple clinical applications of DDR research however the main goal would be more applicable in a medical sense since after DDR pathways are discovered the end result would be extending cell life!

    1. The more research that is done to understand these DDR pathways then the closer we get to extending cell life. By understanding the mechanisms that respond to DDR we can then replicate and expedite the process.

  3. What are some restrictions and drawbacks that the RT-PCR method poses to your research?

    1. The RT-PCR was a way to measure gene expression after reversing the transcription process, the main restriction is that it measures cDNA so if we wanted to measure something else we would not be able to do so, however it was helpful in measuring the expression of our gene!
