  1. I loved your presentation, it was done clearly within the time interval. My question is, what went wrong with your dilutions and pipetting for them to be invalid?

    1. We over diluted during this part of the experiment. Instead of the 10 percent concentration we wanted to test, we accidentally tested the growth of the Salmonella at 1 percent concentration.

  2. This was a very well done presentation! I am curious as to what specific errors occurred in your dilutions that made the results invalid and what did the invalid data show from those incorrect dilutions?

    1. We over diluted during this part of the experiment. Instead of the 10 percent concentration we wanted to test, we accidentally tested the growth of the Salmonella at 1 percent concentration. The results from this showed that our compounds did not inhibit the growth of Salmonella.

  3. Would you predict that dissolving the compounds in different media would make them more or less effective?

    1. I do not believe dissolving our compounds in different media would make it any more or less effective.

  4. Great job, you were well spoken and clearly communicated your findings. Do you think that other compounds in the mugwort plant are responsible for antibacterial properties? Or that the compounds would need to be used together in order to be effective?

    1. I think that there are other compounds responsible for antibacterial properties in the mugwort plant due to the research we conducted showing clearly that our compounds both did not inhibit the growth of Salmonella at all.

  5. I was wondering what the main difference is between the two different methods that you used for the medias?

    1. The Mueller-Hinton Agar Plate does not need a negative or a positive control that the compounds are soluble in, whereas, the max dose experiment does. The Mueller-Hinton plate also gives us a visual representation of the inhibition of bacteria, whereas the max dose experiment gives us a numerical value of absorption of the well plates.
