  1. How would you or another group go about determining if the concentrations of the yellow coloring would change the results? What levels/concentrations of coloring would you test?

    1. When testing to see if the coloring effected our experiment I would run a dilution set of different concentrations of coloring, recording their absorbances. That, or look into a possible colorless version of curcumin to run in the lab.

    1. As to whether Turmeric would be a good antibiotic or not, we wouldn’t necessarily know. However, I addressed that it would be interesting to see if anything changed if we didn’t just use the curcumin extract. We unfortunately didn’t get a chance to delve into the specifics of turmeric, but I think it would be a good future direction to take. It’s possible it has no additional effect, it’s also possible that it would have one.

  2. Could you explain the properties of the bacteria in more depth? Gram negative, rod shaped, etc.

    1. Yes, the bacteria are gram negative, rod shaped and flagellated. They cause gastrointestinal issues in humans. It’s incubation period can be 12-72 hours depending on how many bacteria were contracted by a host.

  3. Personally, I am curious to see what, if any effect turmeric would have on our results. We would be able to do this by running the same tests only with turmeric instead of curcumin alone.

  4. I would personally like to test turmeric. Since curcumin is derived from turmeric, I am curious to see if it has any other natural antibiotic capabilities that have been unseen.
