  1. What kind of experiments would you most likely use to find out what the promoter sequences you mentioned promote exactly?

    1. Great question! One idea I had for testing this is to see what happens if the promoters were taken out of the genome. If the phage is not able to replicate, the promoters probably promote non coding RNAs. If the phage is able to replicate still, then I’m not sure what exactly that would mean. It would probably require more advanced tests that I’m not familiar with.
