  1. Great presentation! How would infecting M. tuberculosis or another virus with your phage be helpful in phage therapy?

    1. There are more and more bacteria that are becomming antibiolic resistant.
If we could use phages then we could have a way to combat antibiotic resistance in bacteria and give other people afflicted with the disease that the bacteria cause another chance to life.

    1. We didn’t. Sort of.
We have gotten 3 ml of soil and have incubated it in M. smeg. We then did a plaque assay with it. From there we chosen the largest clearest plaque. The rest of the phages that we have used is from that original plaque in the assay

  2. There seem to be many differently sized plaques in the high titer spot test – how was your phage chosen from the others on the plate?

    1. We simply ignored the smaller plaques that are on the lines as they are most likely “errors”.
For the one that we chosen, we went with the plaque that is the clearest and have the most distinct boundery. In this case it means the plaque #4

As for the plaque that we have chosen, we simply picked the one that is the clearest and have the most distinct bounderys. In this case that means plaque #4.

    1. We are hopping to test the strains

      M. Tuberculosis H37Rv
      M. Alvei
      M. Abscessus
      Staphylococcus aureus pneumonia
