  1. How did you measure the phages? Did you have to use a certain ratio? Considering it was so magnified under the microscope, I’m curious as to how you measured it!

    1. The measures that were showed in the poster I think were measured by our TA once the phots were taken. That is a great question though, I will actually look into that. Thanks!

    1. Lytic phages are typically better at eliminating specified bacteria faster so it becomes a great option for phage therapy for those who become immune to antibiotics.

    2. Lytic phages typically are very effective at killing specified bacteria and in a fast manner. This then makes it a great candidate for phage therapy because it can potentially replace antibiotics for people who are antibiotic resistant.

  2. What exactly does a phage do? How can they be used in the science world? What is phage therapy?

    1. Phage is a virus that is capable of infecting a bacterial cell. This then could cause lysis to the host cell. Phage therapy is something that also connects to your previous question. Phage therapy is a way to help medical patients who are resistant to antibiotics. The idea of phage therapy is becoming wildly studied and is potentially an alternative for those who are resistant to antibiotics, it would ideally be a replacement to kill unwanted bacteria from infections etc.

  3. What would the benefits of using Cadly be specifically for phage therapy as compared to other lytic phages?

    1. Cadly has a lot of similarities to some of the other phage clusters specifically cluster B1. One of the main reasons we deemed Cadly to be a good candidate for phage therapy among other lytic phages because of its close similarity to a cluster that has been used in some trials for phage therapy previously.
