What would further research entail concerning to see when and where the gene is expressed during repair? Would it be similar to what your experiment was?
Further research should aim to be able to tell us the specific function of the DiCeR 2 gene in the damage repair pathway, as our research only was able to confirm that it was a part of the repair pathway and not its actual function
Experiments that were briefly talked about in “future direction” mentions describe what further experiments that could be done such as being able to find the exact function of DiCeR 2
When DNA is damaged or mutations are induced, is the DiCeR 2 gene affected as well? And how would a mutation in the DiCeR 2 gene impact the DNA repair process?
Our research proved that when DNA damage is induced, the expression of the DiCeR 2 gene increases. The increase in gene expression tells us that it does have a role in the repair pathway. A mutation in the DiCeR 2 gene may impact the DNA repair process, but I am not sure how it would impact it because we don’t know the function of the gene itself
You mentioned the use of a reporter gene to help know when expression occurs with your gene of interest. Do you think that would be necessary if you have already confirmed increased expression of the gene in the presence of DNA damage?
While you mentioned how DiCeR 2 is important in the DNA damage and repair pathway, why is it important to increase its gene expression specifically? What benefits does this have?
We didn’t increase its gene expression, the increase gene expression seen after inducing DNA damage just indicated that it was a part of the DNA Damage repair pathway but can be further researched in its specific function in the damage repair pathway

What I meant for the use of the reporter gene is to be able to visualize the function or use it for other further research that we are unsure about
