    1. So band sizes show us how far the DNA travels and since our bands seemed to be all equal it doesn’t prove or disapprove our results making them inconclusive. Brightness was important as it shows us if DNA damage was induced or not.

  1. For the figures you explained that you did not get your expected results. What would you have expected them to look like?

    1. What we were hoping for would be different variations of sizes in bands and brightness levels as well to prove that our gene was actually induced but since they were all equal it doesn’t really prove or disapprove anything.

    1. The only implications could either be our gene just is not used for DNA damage repair or we messed up somehow on our part leading to the results to be inconclusive.

    1. We wanted to see bands there mainly for cDNA because cDNA actually proves if our gene HypeC was being reduced. gDNA is more of a backup so not as important.

    1. Great question. RT-PCR is a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction meaning that it takes the target gene being tested solely to measure the amount of RNA. RNA-seq is also testing RNA however with the sequencing we are able to see the level of transcription and cellular responses.
