  1. Good presentation and great job providing background for your audience. Since Salmonella is a gram negative bacteria, did this impact your choice of compound since you knew it was tested in gram positive bacteria in the past?

  3. Great video and poster, well spoken and make very neat. I was just curious about the greatest challenge you came across when going your experiment? Did you have any set backs?

    1. Thanks, a main challenge in this experiment was the reddish/brownish color of the EGCg compound. There were not major set backs.

  4. You gave two explanations to the inconsistency between your experiments, an error in the testing methodology or the color of the compound, which do you think is more likely?

    1. I think it is more likely that the color of the compound was the reason for the inconsistency, because the Mueller-Hinton agar plate demonstrated significant bacteriostatic activity.

  5. Great presentation! In choosing your compound, did you look into the machinery/chemisty this compound executed when killing bacteria, or increasing the growth? How might this change what compound to choose in future experiments?

    1. Thank you, I don’t know the exact biological/molecular mechanisms of EGCg involved in killing bacteria. However, if they were known, a compound that selects for specific targets on S. Typhimurium would be a good candidate.

  6. This was a great presentation and the efforts were clearly seen!! I was wondering what the first step you would take for your future directions?

    1. Thanks! The first step for future directions would be recreating the Mueller-Hinton agar plate, to confirm the results we obtained are significant.

  7. I thought this was an incredibly interesting project and now evaluating many people from this class, I think it is interesting that you all chose diversely different. What made you choose ECG green tea?
