I would consider this valuable information! I think it needs further testing before it is completely ruled out but I believe this research gives a good idea as to its efficacy.
There is a lot of research showing that it is has antimicrobial properties as well as research showing that it has minimal toxic effects to cells. These two properties in conjunction make it desirable as an antibiotic should it really have these antimicrobial properties.
