If we had more time and the same resources that the researchers used, whose protocol we followed to extract the cheese peptide, hopefully we could better extract the singular peptide, so that other nutrients in our extract would not impact our results. We are thinking that some of these nutrients promoted salmonella growth.
A hit would be a compound that falls outside +/- 2 standard deviations from the mean negative control value. A hit is something that showed statistical significance and could be considered for further testing.
