    1. We could tell that the bacteria was being killed by the compound because we run it through spectrophotometer and there are average absorbances. So, if the average absorbance of the wells with the compound are 2 standard deviations less than the average of our negative control then, we know that it is antibiotic and is classified as a “hit” to our data. But, if the bacteria wasn’t killed by the compound, then it would be 2 standard deviations more than the average of the negative control and would be classified as probiotic.

This experiment of 4 HBITC on Salmonella Typhimurium is basically a in vitro experiment just because it is perform outside of an actual organism and is performed in a lab in a microtiter plate. I would say the in vitro experiments would be less complicated to perform compared to in vivo experiments because there might be more factors that play into the experiments on living organisms.
