Gram-negative bacteria are a type of bacteria that do not retain the purple stain used to stain bacteria. This is because gram-negative bacteria have a thin peptidoglycan layer, and and added lipid membrane layer.
Our group came up with our hypothesis by determining our problem and then drawing a conclusion about what we effect we thought out compound 4-Hydroxybenzyl isothiocyanate would have on Salmonella Typhimurium.
We decided to test the max dose because the greatest dosage would mostly have the chances of the most positive results and the greatest death of Salmonella Typhimurium.
The changes in doses cause fewer bacteria to die. The dosage is important in determining the dose that can be given to humans, to kill the bacteria but not cause harmful side effects.
