Lethal dose is 50-500 mg/kg body weight. We ensured that the max dose is safe, but there could be side effects that we are not sure of without further testing with the doses. The max dose is required because it is the only dose that produced viable results.
It is currently most commonly used for skin irritation and mild joint pain. So for these problems, it is best administered topically because the skin absorbs it fast and easily. It is not effective as quickly when taken orally.
Great presentation! I was just wondering what you meant when you talked about the bar graphs and that the results were statistical hits. What does it mean when a result isn’t within the statistical hit range?
Thank you! When a result is not within the statistical range it just means that not enough bacteria grew or decreased for it to be considered enough evidence of successful treatment.
Is camphor an oil or an oily substance? If so, did you notice any solubility issues with your compound at higher doses and do you think that could interfere with your experimental setup?
Could there be any side effects by using the highest dose, because most drugs tend to be the lowest possible concentration that can still work?

Why is camphor typically administered topically? Is there any obstacles in administering it in another form?

It is not very oily and I do not believe this caused any issues with our experiments however that would be interesting to test further.
