  1. Great presentation! How big exactly are the silver nanoparticles, and how are they introduced into the human bloodstream?

    1. Good question! You should think of the silver nanoparticles as being between 1 and 100 nm.

      As far as delivery into the bloodstream, there is long history of folks simply drinking a liquid with the particles suspended in it (usually water with Ag NPs suspended in it). There is also no reason I know of that it could not be injected directly.

  2. Great job! You mentioned how the nanoparticles can be used as an antibiotic due to their ability to degrade the bacteria, is there any risk of them degrading human cells as well?

    1. Hi Charleton! Good question! There is some evidence to suggest prolonged use of high doses of Silver Nanoparticles can cause toxicity in humans. I think the most promising thing is that the lower doses seemed to show promise in our study. The exact toxicity risks are certainly in need of further study to understand completely.
