Phages are typically only used to treat infections that can’t be cured through antibiotics. But you can see phages used in lab setting where you can test out infection rates based on certain bacterial strains used.
By confirming sub cluster and Cluster of the phage you are able to categorize and pinpoint what kind of phage you have through a series of groupings. These cluster and sub clusters are important to phage therapy because there are so many undiscovered phage out there and by pinpointing exactly what the phage is (clusters) they can be tested for effectivity in the health world.
Sorry for the confusion. The plaque may have seemed clear when I was presenting just because the picture wasn’t as clear when I recorded it, but there are actually thousands of small plaques on the agar plate. And from there I deciphered if the plaques were lytic or lysogenic based on their morphology.
What other ways can phage be used other than for phage therapy?

What would confirming the cluster and determining the sub cluster allow you to do moving forward with research?

In the first plate figure, how did you tell you had lytic and lysogenic phages if the whole thing was clear?
