  1. Knowing that you have a lytic M. Smegmatis infecting Siphoviridae phage, is there specific research you could look into to adjust bacteriophage treatment to this specific one?

    1. Knowing that the phage is in the B cluster actually narrows down the researching process by a lot. The B cluster of phages can only infect mycobacterium host which means that research about mycobacterium host can be further looked into. To then see which mycobacterium host is the best for our phage to specifically infect .

    1. The fact that the phage produced 52 small plaques doesn’t quite indicate that it was a lytic phage, but the fact that the plaques are clear and small is the true indicator that the phage is lytic.

    1. For a phage to be in the B cluster means that it is only able to infect and lyse Mycobacterium host. Examples of Mycobacterium host can be: Mycobacterium Smegmatis, Mycobacterium Turberculosis, and Mycobacterium Leprae.

    1. The size and shape of the phage matter because it can help support the infection process from the virus to the bacteria, including the transfer of genetic material, stabilization, and protection.

    1. It is important that Dr Doom is a lytic species because Lytic species only have one cycle in which they’re able to carry out. Lytic phages immediately infect and lyse the host cell. Which is ideal for phages to be used in antibiotic resistant medicine.
