I’m not entirely sure, I would assume it would be because typically phage therapy is a last resort so if the patients weren’t as sick they would have tried other treatments before resorting to phages.
I personally find research in medicine to be very interesting and until this lab I wasn’t even aware that alternatives to antibiotics existed so I think it is really important to spread information about this type of research.
Do you know why they chose deathly ill patients for the testing of phage therapy?

More pcr testing would be useful just to make sure that our results were not due to human error and contamination.
