Hi! Could you expand on what a high titer lysate (HTL) is and what its number suggest about the property of the phage? I thought this was a super cool presentation!
The high titer of the lysate is the amount of plaque forming units within a lysate. It doesn’t say anything about the phage specifically but rather the lysate and how concentrated it is.
The high titer isn’t specific to the phage, it’s just the concentration of phage in the lysate. In terms of phage therapy, it’s important to know the titer so that proper dosing can be achieved.

Would a phage with a larger HTL be better for phage therapy applications since it’d be more effective at killing bacteria?

What made you want to isolate and purify a temparate phage opposed to a lytic phage?

We didn’t necessarily chose to isolate a temperate phage rather that was the type of phage we happened to collect so that is what was isolated.
