  1. Would you say that a lytic phage is better at performing phage therapy or aiding it compared to a temperate phage? In other words, are the results obtained the outcome you desired?

    1. Hi! Lytic phages are actually necessary for phage therapy versus temperate because if the phage undergoes the lysogenic life cycle, as a temperate would, the genetic material would combine with that of the host cell and this would not result in successful phage therapy.

    1. Thanks for your question Astrid, it’s a really good one! Honestly, I’m not too sure how this really affects the function of the phage, but if I had to guess, I would say it has something to do with the effectiveness of the injection of the genetic material into the host cell. Sorry if that isn’t accurate though, haha.
