Hi Ana, thank you for your questions! An implications of my findings would include not counting the bands in the restriction digest properly which could lead to my phage being classified into the wrong cluster. However, this would not be know until we run a PCR and conclude that none of the subclusters were a match. After clustering it, the phage could be used by other scientists/researchers who need phages from a specific subcluster and host bacteria.
Hi Jamie, thank you for your question! I would say that the results would be the same if they same measurements were used. In certain parts of our research, my partner and I had to do some modifications on the measurements; therefore, I believe they would be the same if we did the modifications again.
Hi Jordan, thank you for your question! A major significance of my phage being temperate is that it cannot be used for phage therapy. As we learned, only lytic phages are viable for phage therapy, unless the temperate phage undergoes mutations.
Hi Emily, thank you for your question! I would say that phages don’t have many negative side effects since they mostly consist of nucleic acids and proteins. This would make them nontoxic. I also believe that some people may have negative immune responses to other drugs, making them harmful to them.
What would be some implications of your findings? After clustering your phage, what would you use it for?

If this experiment was repeated, would the results of this experiment be consistent or would it change?

Is there any major significance of your phage being a temperate phage?

How do phages not have any negative side effects compared to other drugs that may be used in disease?
