  1. As mentioned you are still waiting on sequencing results to determine if mutations are present. What is the importance of knowing if there are mutations present in the genome construct?

    1. If mutations are present in the genome then the RNA construct will not work properly in soybeans to down regulate Phytochrome A. If a mutation is present we would need to select new white colonies to resequenced until mutations are not present.

    1. Cleistogamous flowers are beneficial for GMO plants so that GMO plants do not cross-contaminate/pollinate non GMO plants.

    1. RNAi is a reversible technique where as gene knockout is irreversible. It is beneficial for closed flowers to be reversible because not all experiments may be compatible with a closed flower.
