  1. Does the model organism cut up it’s DNA at specific sites and if so was this beneficial to your research?

    1. There are specific sites that T. thermophila cuts at that are indicated within its genome. The actual sites that the model organism cuts at, however, were not important for this particular research.

    1. The primers that were used in the experiments were gene-specific. They were designed to anneal uniquely to one gene.

    1. Cancers can form from a buildup of un-repaired DNA damage, but these same cancers can be targeted and exploited by targeting the DNA damage response pathway of cancerous cells.
