We decided to look into the Cory gene for our research because it had a similar gene expression pattern to genes known to play a role in DNA damage repair, like Rad51. Oftentimes, when genes have similar functions they also have similar expression. We wanted to further explore these similarities through this research, however we couldn’t prove that the Cory gene played a role in DNA damage repair.

That is a possible next step that we can take, however I would personally want to look into the Cory gene and really uncover the function of it.
