We were really hoping that we would have seen results that it is involved in DNA damage repair due to the curve it was showing with a gene that is known to be active in DNA damage repair.

You could maybe run a forward genetic analysis, which basically entails inducing tons of mutations to the T. thermophila genome and they trying to trace back the mutated phenotypes to what genes they come from. This would involve really getting into the genetics of T. thermophila
We could run what is called qt-PCR, which would allow us to get a much better look at what the exact expression levels are. We could also maybe test it in things that are involved with other functions of the cell.
