    1. Thank you! In the future, once we are sure that melittin is a viable antibiotic, we could test the compounds interactions within living organisms. Additional research questions could involve the topic of possible toxicity within live models.

    1. We have already concluded that our compound can kill bacteria, so further research that needs to be done mainly involves testing how toxic melittin is for the human body. Through in vivo testing, we can determine how the compound interacts with living organisms and judge if it is safe to use for humans. Other potential avenues to discover new antibiotics include testing other compounds for antibiotic properties and using research into phage genomics to combat antibiotic resistance.
