Thank you for replying Kara. I do believe that treating S. Typhimurium infected tissues with Polymyxin B (sulfate) and placing it back into the organism would work effectively. Polymyxin is already approved for human use, so I believe it’s safe. However, I don’t know if it would be safer than in vivo. There are pros and cons such as exvivo shows the effects of the drug without being digested, which is both a pro and a con.
