Hello, nice work! Earlier in the presentation you spoke about how you had done previous research on A. acidoremestris that could be applicable to the Salmonella bacterium results. Did you find any similarities between the published research and your results? Thanks!
Hi, thank you so much! Unfortunatlyey we were not able to find any similarities between the published research used in our refrences and our results. We would need to run more tests in order to confirm our results and then compare them to other research results. 🙂
Thank you so much! A bacteriostatic or bactericidal protocol could be ran to determine how the compound inhibits the infection, in this case Salmonella. A bactericidal result would show that the compound kills the infection, whereas a bacteriostatic result would show that the compound inhibits or stops the growth of the infection. 🙂
thank you fellow symposium enthusiast! I reccommend taking the antibiotics discovery lab (and lecture) and fingers crossed you get some good TAs!! godspeed!
Why did you use 620 nm light when measuring the absorbance?
Because 620nm was the wavelength where Bromelain showed the greatest absorbance. 🙂

Very nice presentation and poster!! If your results show antibiotic properties, why would a Bacteriostatic/Bactericidal protocol could be run?

Wow, good job! You’re a great scientist, a true inspiration. I may even pursue a career in science now.
