  1. Is there a way other than measuring the absorbance value to determine the concentration of bacteria left over?

  2. Thank you for your question. Yes, there are other ways of measuring bacterial concentrations such as plate count method. That method was not an option in our lab and, honestly, I’m not sure if it would work in our case. Finding alternative options to Spectrophotometer absorbance values would be key to determining whether our compound ultimately works.

  3. Great presentation! What technique do you think would be best for testing the growth inhibition of your bacteria?

    1. Thanks for your question, Josh. If we could get the compound to fully dissolve then I think Spectrophotometer absorbance would be best. However, if the inability to dissolve the compound persists, then perhaps another method, such as plate count, would be a better option.
