Hi! So yes Nisin has a lot of effects against gram positive bacteria like E. Coli, so we treated the Nisin with EDTA (which increases the permeability of the bacteria) so that it would be effective against Nisin which is a gram negative bacteria. While we didn’t test any other bacteria but we do think that Nisin could be effective against other bacteria.
Would Nisin potentially be able to combat other infections besides Salmonella, and how would you test that?

We would test that though max bacteria screening but also would likely be the most successful against bacteria with a similar structure to Salmonella.
