When you did your restriction digest how were you able to determine if it was the lytic O cluster phage or the temperate phage you were looking at from your phage lysate?
The plaques produced in Figure 2 were from the same sample we isolated DNA from, and they were lytic plaques.

Because our phage infects M. smeg bacteria.

There are different uses for both types of phage. For example, in phage therapy, you want the phage to be lytic. Temperate phages would be wanted for gene transfer.
