The Cluster identification leads graduate students at the University of Pittsburgh to have simpler ways of grouping the hundreds of phages together when they do their research on phage therapy.
I was amazed with the importance of bacteriophages in future medical treatment. Phage therapy is a legit and amazing treatment for bacterial infections.
I do think it could be useful, even in the slightest bit because I forgot to mention that the bacteria that our phage infected is a cousin of TB. Our class’s phages all infected this bacteria – M. smeg – so the way our phage infected this bacteria could help scientists’ research of TB treatment in the future.
