There wasn’t a positive control because we had to rush through our lab (because of COVID) in order to get the main experiments done. The positive control would have helped solidify our results in conjunction with the PCR results.
Our original hypothesis was that the phage would be siphoviridae because phages that infect mycobacterium, which is the bacteria we used, are siphoviridae.
Why wasn’t there a positive control in the experiment? Won’t a positive control help solidify your results?
