    1. Research on M. smeg has also been explored to combat E. coli cultures in agriculture as well, and as a way to explore the possibility of phage therapy as a treatment plan (the process of engineering specific phages to target bacterial infections).

    1. We determined the titer by counting the amount of plaques on the plate (155) then divide that by the uL of lysate used to plate it, then multiply that number by 1000 to get the amount in mL, then multiply the dilution factor (10^4)

  1. Could this phage be used to cure TB and other possibly other infections or just as a way to control and manage them? What implications does this research have in terms of the human population?

    1. It can be used as a way to cure TB in a patient because it has the ability to mutate with the bacteria, therefore it’s capable of killing them off. Thousands of people die every year due to bacterial resistance to antibiotic treatment, so this can be explored as an alternative.
