Major Dick Bong was a War War II medal of honor recipient. He was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame after his efforts in WWII. He is known as one of the greatest Air force pilots of all time credited with shooting down 40 Japanese aircraft. Originally our name was MajorDickBong to honor this great man, however this didn’t follow the naming guidelines so we changed it to MajorBong.
How did you come up with the name for your phage?

Our first PCR test failed due to human error. The gel wasn’t run for the proper amount of time.

Thank You! And yes M. smegmatis was used as opposed to M. Tuberculosis as it is a very close match but safe for laboratory procedures.
