  1. Why do you think your PCR bands were not “clear”/ could not tell you if the phage was a part of the O cluster for your third image?

    1. Because the picture with PCR bands show smudging which means it is not high quality to determine whether our phage truly belongs to O cluster

  2. What does having matching cuts for clusters A K and O in mean for the phages? Based on the information that you have so far is it likely that the phages can be used to treat antibiotic resistant bacteria?

    1. It means our phage might belong to cluster A, K, and O, this is helpful for the characterization of our phage. It is unlikely that our phage can be used to treat antibiotic resistant bacteria since it is a temperate phage, but it can be modified to enter a lytic life cycle instead for phage therapy.

  3. What is one of the experiments you could do to find the specific properties of the phage.

    1. One experiment I could do to better characterize our phage is the PCR experiemnt, it will help determine the specific cluster the phage belongs to.

    1. Assuming our phage can be modified to enter a lytic life cycle which is generally better suited for phage therapy, using phage therapy could help with treating bacteria that has antibiotic resistance.
