  1. Would some phage clusters be more suited to treating antibiotic resistant bacteria in the clinic?

    1. The type of cluster that is best suited to treat antibiotic resistant bacteria depends on what type of bacteria is causing the infection. Before you know which cluster would be best suited, you need to know that information.

    1. A lot of A cluster phages belong to the Siphoviridae family, but this morphotype can be seen among many clusters.

  3. How did you select this particular phage from the soil sample?

Are certain clusters in the siphoviridae family more useful in phage therapy?

    1. In order to isolate the phage from the soil sample, the sample went through an enrichment process that produced many different types of plaques. From there, we performed 6 rounds of purification in order to isolate only one type of plaque.
