    1. Phage are divided into clusters based off of when they were discovered. Cluster B phage all share similar genetics, which can be seen in their uniquely long tail. Thanks for your question!

    1. In the phage lab there wasn’t a whole lot of room for a hypothesis. If I were to have one, it would likely be along the lines of expecting Duckweed to infect M Tuberculosis as well as it can infect M smeg

    1. If I had the time for quality control I’d love to re-try DNA isolation as many times as it takes for the DNA to be of high enough quality to run it on a gel! This lab is so interesting to me and I want to contribute as much as I can to its development 🙂

  1. What are the potential clinical implications of your phage being lytic? How would it be used differently compared to a temperate phage?

    1. Because the phage is lytic, there is no chance for its DNA to replicate with the bacteria and remain dormant. Temperate phages need to have their genetics altered so that the repressor protein that prevents lysis of the bacteria no longer operates. Thank you so much!
