Getting this phage to show up was like pushing a boulder up a hill because we had to do 3 rounds of purification so Sisyphus seemed suiting. Our phage exhibited lytic behavior based on the clear plaques meaning it lysed the cell upon infection. LikeLike Reply
Although it might be able to infect more bacteria, the bacteria used to isolate it was M.smegmatus so thats the one known bacteria is can infect. LikeLike Reply

So phages that are more genetically diverse are have a wider host range which means that they are able to infect more bacteria types. LikeLike Reply
